Noor did not know how prophetic she was being when she wrote of one of Hazrat Inayat Khan’s close students, Mme. De Armas, who had been of great inspiration to her:

I owe her many things. I owe her that she showed me how to see life in a more profound manner. You can imagine how much I was moved to see in a woman the conception of life I have so much sought and [a being] such as I have so much wanted to be, the living softness which emanates from her, ready to console every heart which comes to her. Her mother, our “grandmamma,” told me she had suffered very much. And God be thanked if I, in suffering, could have the same light in me.3
